Govern***t

April 17, 2008

Here’s an illustration for an article generally discussing the censorship our federal government puts on itself to cover up much of the information that goes on in the pentagon and white house daily.  Again this is a pen and ink reworked in photoshop.

The Grade

April 13, 2008

The Grade

This piece was originally worked with pen and india ink, then scanned and colored in photoshop.  I basically sought out to portray the dark cloud that a bad grade can cast on you.  For some reason I see the scarlet letter in this.

Finding The Tooth Sketch

April 8, 2008

I recently read how a man was cured of blindness by doctors using his brothers tooth to help create a new working eye.  A tooth?  So that got me thinking…and out came this little sketch.

Who Needs Saving?

April 6, 2008

This is an promotional illustration recently completed.  The original image was drawn with india ink, then reworked with color in photoshop.  When I thought about the amount of need there is in the world, this image formed in my mind.

Eye Of The Storm in Color

April 6, 2008

Eye Of The Storm

So here’s that sketch fully transformed in color.  I submitted it to Threadless, but unfortunately it was dropped from the running for the lack of high scoring.   Oh well.  Next time (which will be soon because I just submitted a color version of Oldage–I’ll post it when it’s up).

Sketchiness: Digging

April 3, 2008

Digging

This is a new ink drawing done in one of my moleskins.  I’m really reminiscing about an older style of painting.  Recently I had become more of an on-site landscape/in studio abstract painter, but I’ve been gradually filling up on these types of ideas.

Ahh…Minimalism

Ahh...Therapy #6

Here’s a strip I had done a while back, but hadn’t posted.  Why?  I don’t know, but here it is now.  This one shows off my attention to detail.

Homage Watercolor

March 30, 2008

Homage

This is a recent sketch/watercolor (actually done earlier today).  My idea behind it was a young man remembering what used to be.  I’m not quite the wiz when it comes to watercolor, but I’m learning to enjoy it.

Oldage Ink Drawing

March 29, 2008

Oldage

Well whadya know!  My host pulled things through with phenomenal quicknes.  Way to go IX Webhosting.  Anyway this little image is the second image I conjured up in my grand handmade sketchbook.  I’ve also scanned this one into my computer and I’m currently developing a new submission to Threadless with it.    I’ll be sure to post something about it when it’s all said and done.

Where’s the pictures?

March 29, 2008

Sorry for the lack of visual stimulation.  My web hosting company is moving so all my work is down for 24-48 hours starting yesterday.  Hopefully(they say) all will be well come Sunday at 8 am.  Then all  these glorious images will be back where they belong.

Personal Pet

March 27, 2008

Here’s a pen and ink drawing from my sketch book that I later scanned in to try out some photoshop watercolor techniques.  Still a work in progress, but I’m enjoying it as it goes.

Eye Of The Storm Ink Drawing

March 26, 2008

These days I seem to have a multitude of sketchbooks at my disposal.  Each one seems to extract different ideas from me.  I recently received this magnificent 14″x18″ sketch book of handmade paper that I decided would be a great place for some large ink drawings.  This one in particular I later photographed and developed into a t shirt concept soon to be submitted to Threadless.  I’ll be sure to put that up when it’s ready to be voted upon.

Life With The Pod

The World Talks Back #30

So I know it’s been ages…well months at least…since my last post on this little blog. Well I’m back and this time it’s personal…wait…it’s always personal…it’s my blog! Anyway I’ve been spending too much time over on another blog, but recently I’ve been inspired and found the time to scan and upload some new things I’ve been working-on/thinking. This is the first World Talks Back that I’ve done in a while. My own Ipod had been acting up that day…and…poof…comic. Enjoy!

Portrait Landscapes

November 24, 2007

I’ve started a new series of paintings that are portrait/landscapes. Using photographic portraits as my ground, I am weaving an on site landscape painting into it. While painting this particular one I was consumed with energy. Two spirits colliding…that was the feeling I was going for at least. It came out fairly balanced, but the one that I finished after this had an uneasy feeling. I suspect that dynamic will continue throughout the series.
